Objective Celebrates Singapore Contract

May 22, 2007: Objective Corporation have extended their geographical footprint into South East Asia as City Gas in Singapore signs the dotted line for an EDRM solution.

According to Tony Walls, CEO of Objective Corporation, the contract marks an important geographical market for Objective. “We are committed to the region, employing experienced, local people,” he says. “Their experience in ECM and related technologies, together with their knowledge of local business issues is invaluable to providing our customers with successful, relevant solutions that deliver real business outcomes.”

Objective’s enterprise document and records management (EDRMS) solution will enable City Gas to progressively shift their operations from a paper-based to electronic environment in order to effectively manage their growing information needs. Objective says City Gas will be able to eliminate the disjointed information currently existing in silos across differing business divisions.

Lawrence Siow, IT manager at City Gas says the Objective solution will have them eliminating the risks associated with their current paper-based operations. “Information was retained in a paper format, in a one-off record, creating a risk of loss either by misfiling, fire or some other disaster,” he says. “With Objective, we can be assured out information will remain secure for future use.”

For Siow, it’s also a matter of ensuring organisational confidence and storing their information in a single repository that will provide staff with a single, information access point. “It (Objective) will enable us to standardise information management across the organisation by providing staff with the direction, tools, training and support they need,” he says.

The City Gas contract will have Objective’s enterprise-wide solution deployed across two locations and used by customer services, HR, corporate services, sales and marketing and finance and production. With time efficiencies offered through improved search capabilities and better knowledge management, the solution will also enable timely access to information for improved decision-making while working to reduce future storage costs.

“We selected Objective because it enabled City Gas to move into the future with the ability to manage increasing quantities of information,” says Siow. “Objective’s reputation for successful, scalable implementations and their approach to implementation and ongoing support of their solutions was well regarded.”

City Gas provides both town and natural gas to residential, commercial and industrial sectors. Responsible for over 2,600 kilometres of pipe networks, the Singapore based provider services more than 90 percent of new high density buildings.
