NetApp and Onaro Increase SAN Visibility

April 10, 2007: Network Appliance and storage service management provider Onaro have teamed up to foster interoperability between Onaro’s SANscreen storage service management software and NetApp’s Fabric-Attached Storage (FAS) systems.

The two are promising significantly increased visibility along side easier storage management, as the addition of SANscreen to NetApp’s FAS technology will enable real-time feedback from all devices in a FC SAN. According to the two companies this will help to maintain services and improve capacity planning, provisioning times, time spent troubleshooting and the meeting of audit and compliance requirements.

“This joint solution addresses a major pain point for our enterprise customers - SAN service management from Onaro combined with NetApp SAN solutions improves business responsiveness, application availability, and operational efficiencies in the data centre,” said Patrick Rogers, vice president of Solutions Marketing at NetApp.

“Onaro's storage service management solutions address the growing challenges IT organisations face aligning storage services to application requirements,” said Assaf Levy, vice president of product management at Onaro. “By providing support for NetApp FAS, we are extending Onaro's storage service management solution to NetApp's growing and vibrant FC SAN customer base.”
