Moonwalk Takes on Gravity in the US

March 27, 2007: Australian data management software vendor Moonwalk has entered the US market with the introduction of it Moonwalk 6.0 software suite.

Today, the software becomes available for the first time in the US, allowing end-users to access data management for information on networked storage, servers and clients through their own classification and migration policies.

Moonwalk says the suite was developed to allow users to move data between primary storage and lower-cost devices. Major file systems are supported, including Windows, Unix, Linux and Netware environments.

Peter Harvey, CEO of Moonwalk says they work to build intelligent, unpretentious and automated software architecture to maximise an enterprise’s existing storage infrastructure. “It can support file management throughout an enterprise regardless of size or organisational structure, as well as address issues of compliance, data protection, server consolidation, and more,” he says.

Harvey says with Moonwalk architecture developed intentionally to accommodate critical data protection capabilities, further updates will be released over the next few months. Overall, the architecture requires no additional overheads and is transparent to users and applications.
