SMBs Get New Software and Services For 3D Data

January 10th, 2007: UGS and IBM are teaming up to bring SMBs a new range of product lifecycle management software and services.

The two will be jointly marketing UGS’s Teamcenter Express software to IBM business partners to sell software and services to customers, positioning their offering as a highly scalable data management solution.

Teamcenter Express is well-known for its coupling with computer-aided design (CAD) applications, is prominent in the machinery, automotive, aerospace and defence sectors and, according to UGS, enables the sharing of information and ideas among global partners, suppliers and customers in a highly secure, digital environment.

“More companies trust UGS to manage their product knowledge than the next three competitors combined,” said John Graham, executive vice president of Global Sales and Services, UGS. “We already create or manage more than 40 percent of the world’s 3D data with our open cPDM technology.”

Many companies are increasing their focus on the lucrative small to medium-sized business (SMB) market. IBM and UGS moving in shows that SMBs have a lot to look forward to in regards to tailored software and services.

UGS says that the expanded Teamcenter Express for IBM customers will be available in the first quarter of 2007.
