Microsoft Makes Major Update to Dynamics CRM

January 16th, 2007: Microsoft is putting more muscle behind its CRM offering, pushing it further into the software as a service (SaaS) space, not to mention notching up another piece of kit it can add it the “Live” branding to.

Codenamed ‘Titan’, and based on Dynamics CRM 3.0, Dynamics CRM Live will be a direct subscription service where businesses can pick up services from the software giant similar to that offered by Salesforce.com.

It has now been four years since Microsoft entered the CRM market, however, it is only now with the multi-tenanted architecture of Dynamics CRM Live that some see it really rolling up its sleeves in the market.

Microsoft says it will be distributing the software to around 1,300 partners before release with the hope that industry specific applications and an array of connectors will emerge before the full release.

Currently, Microsoft expects mid-2007 to be the expected launch date for the revamped Dynamics CRM Live.
