CSC’s $480 Million Triumph

January 22, 2007: Computer Sciences Corporation (CSC) has picked up a monumental, $480 million contract with BlueScope Steel.

The outsourcing contract involves the provision of technology services including disaster recovery and applications development. Over the initial four-year period CSC will also provide BlueScope with end user services, systems integration and consulting across multiple platforms.

It comes as of the result of a successful seven year, outsourcing relationship between the two companies and involves an option to extend out for a further two years.

It’s this relationship that appears to have won CSC the relationship. “We have been very pleased with the support, cost saving initiatives and service delivery improvements provided by CSC,” says Andrew Baker, CIO for BlueScope Steel.

CSC has already developed quite the resume in the resources sector through deals with OneSteel, Woodside Petroleum and Newmont Mining.
