Funnelback spins new Enterprise Web

Month Date, 2006: Funnelback, Australia’s Internet & Enterprise Search engine company, has just released version 8 of its search engine technology.

This release also offers the ability to search content within Microsoft SharePoint, Lotus Domino, Hummingbird DM, Documentum Content Server, Interwoven WorkSite, SAP KM Portal, IBM Websphere Portal and BEA Weblogic Portal.

Faceted navigation presents search results categorised, with end-user tagging of search results along with end-user feedback.

Version 8 offers the ability to retrieve non-web resources at query time to support complex business requirements, as well as more efficient, robust and scalable database search.

There is support for crawling of content behind web forms and a content feeds API.

The ability to extract links from JavaScript generated web pages has been ehanced along with Chinese, Japanese, Korean, and language support.

The new Funnelback Version 8 will be available in both the SaaS and software-based search products.
