Port Authority Picks Objective

September 29th, 2006: Objective Corporation has had a win with the Townsville Port Authority, who has recently implemented its enterprise content management system to increase its information management capabilities.

The Port Authority manages around ten million tonnes of cargo passing over its wharves annually. It is using Objective to provide a corporate information repository to support its information management, as well as manage a range of physical and electronic information such as engineering drawings, plans and digital pictures used for construction and maintenance projects including new berths and buildings.

In addition to improving information management, the Authority required a solution to support compliance with the Queensland Public Records Act 2002 and Queensland government Information Standards 31, 40, 41 & 42.

“We selected Objective because it was a single solution with a proven track-record in operating effectively in comparable environments,” said Mr Barry Holden, Chief Executive Officer, Townsville Port Authority. “Objective plays an important role in supporting corporate governanceat the Authority, with the management of rental and lease information for port land and buildings, along with numerous engineering contracts.”

Objective says its solution will assist in monitoring and streamlining business processes, enabling the Authority to provide essential business knowledge to people while providing a range of operational efficiencies throughout the Authority.

"We are very confident that Objective will facilitate the efficient management and necessary security of the Authority's knowledge assets now and into the future," said Holden.
