Plasmon Partners Up With NetApp

By Greg McNevin

June 27, 2008: Plasmon and NetApp are teaming up to create a range of fully integrated archiving solutions to suit a variety of situations.

Plasmon will integrate NetApp’s storage systems into its Archive Appliance and data management solutions, virtualising the archive layer. Plasmon says this approach will work with multiple technologies to create one virtualised storage pool, enabling intelligence-based archive systems.

“We’re pleased to establish a partnership with NetApp to revolutionise our customers’ approach to archiving,” said Steven Murphy, CEO of Plasmon.

“This partnership is another step toward delivering solutions that enable archives to seamlessly leverage appropriate storage technologies and applications.”

The company adds that it will continue to seek partnerships with vendors such as NetApp to drive its virtualisation strategy and simplify storage environments.
