July 6th, 2006:Cumulus 7, the latest upgrade to the Cumulus line promises improvements in security, web-based DAM and usability.

Designed to integrate smoothly with creative workflows, Cumulus 7 offers enhancements for security, web-based Digital Asset Management (DAM), automation and usability. A new user interface is designed to help users become more proficient. Canto claims this means the images referenced in QuarkXPress or InDesign layouts, MS Word documents, and even PowerPoint presentations can be virtually ‘connected’ to the assets that reference them.

Ricky Patten, DataBasics Managing Director, says, “Cumulus 7 combines administrative and end user enhancements which DataBasics are sure will impress the DAM marketplace”. DataBasics is targeting local councils, government departments and creative media markets as potential customers for Cumulus 7.

New features include increased asset control, faster production, and more efficient collaboration. Available now, Cumulus 7 prices range from approximately AU$ 6,865 to $70,000.
