CA Acquires XOsoft

July 12th, 2006: CA continued to extend its storage management interests with the purchase of XOsoft.

CA announced the news yesterday, saying the purchase enables the company to offer complete recovery management solutions. XOsoft is a leading provider of continuous application availability solutions that minimize application downtime and accelerate time to recovery. The news follows CA’s purchase last month of records management specialist MDY Group and continues the company’s recent trend of buying product specific companies.

“CA has 300,000 customers. We will now offer them a full suite of recovery management products to solve customers' needs, from continuous data protection and snapshot management to vaulting and everything in between”, Says Bob Davis, Senior Vice President and General Manager of storage business for CA.

CA did not reveal the terms of the deal, however, it has confirmed in a press release that Leonid Shtilman, CEO and founder of XOsoft, will join CA as the Senior Vice President of Storage Management Software.
