Helios Offer PDF Solution for Prepress

German based provider of file print server and prepress solutions, Helios, has announced the compatibility of its PDF HandShake with print and production software. Helios claims that this will reduce workflows and costs as operators can automatically inspect PDF files to verify printing compatibility, and conformance with standards such as PDF/X. pdfInspector3.

According to Helios media houses can now integrate PDF verification when uploading files using HELIOS WebShare UB. In so doing, the service provider offers the user the opportunity to check on their own, via any web browser, the quality of the PDF. This will, it says, reduce errors and considerably accelerate the delivery and preparation of PDF jobs.

“With PDF preflight integrated throughout the HELIOS product line, local and remote users can benefit from server automated PDF preflighting”, said Helmut Tschemernjak, President of HELIOS. “The flexibility of preflighting PDF jobs from Mac, Windows, and web-based users via hot folders and scripting workflows is unique in the industry”.
