DigiGuard Comes To The Mountain

June 15th, 2006 Australian offsite storage specialist acquired by US-based records and document management company.

Boston-based, Iron Mountain, continues its acquisition trail in Australia with the purchase, for an undisclosed sum, of Melbourne-based DigiGuard.

DigiGuard, which has been in operation since 1997, provides data back-up and off-site storage solutions including TapeGuard, eGuard for web-based off-site support. It is also provides consultancy for risk management, disaster recovery and IT Infrastructure Library (ITIL) best practice.

This is Iron Mountain's second acquisition in the Asia Pacific region, building on its October 2005 purchase of Pickfords Records Management. The recent buy builds on the Boston company's portfolio of digital asset solutions, which range from consultancy, through film archiving up to 'Intellectual Property' escrow.
