Extra lives could be saved through Objective system

Jul 18, 2005:The South Australian Fire and Emergency Services Commission has chosen Objective Corporation to manage its mission critical system so that information can be made more accessible for emergency and administrative personnel.

SAFECOM believes that the new document and records management system that will be put in place has the capability of saving extra lives because information will be easier to track.

SAFECOM is made up of the South Australian Country Fire Services, South Australian Metropolitan Fire Service, and South Australia State Emergency Service to provide integrated services to the State.

Objective will be used as an essential repository to deliver access to core information, effective information management and knowledge sharing across the commission. It is hoped that this single solution will reduce the amount of time and effort spent on searching for information, enabling personnel to improve decision-making and devote more time to planning.

Vincent Monterola, the chief executive of SAFECOM, said that it essential that the solution is easy for people to access and use because most of the users are volunteers.

"Access to information in our work is vital, the rapid access Objective will provide to essential information across agency units enhances planning and responsiveness, which means extra lives may be saved."

Tony Walls, the CEO of Objective Corporation is proud that SAFECOM have entrusted Objective to meet the rigorous and essential demands of Emergency Services organisations.
