Wireless VoIP to meet customer roaming demands

Jul 25, 2005: VoIP has evolved from the desktop and can now be used for wireless, roaming purposes to increase flexibility and extra convenience for users.

Zultys has released the WIP 2 to deliver the full functionality and ease of use of a desktop IP phone in a handy mobile format, providing seamless connectivity as users roam throughout an enterprise.

Tony Warhurst, the director of business development, at Zultys Technologies Australia, said that nearly 80 percent of asked for this kind of technology.

"They tell us they would like the ability to take their desktop IP phone with them rather than have a second mobile unit with reduced capability. Other WiFi IP phones are coming into the market today don't provide users with enough features or sufficient battery life. The WIP 2 excels in all areas."

Zultys also claims that WIP 2 is the first wireless IP phone to provide presence, and tow call appearances, voice encryption, paging, 3-way conferencing, instant messaging, and all standard telephony functions.

In addition, it can be used as a desktop phone, but it also allows employees to move around the office and retain full control of their availability and communications.
