Exabyte gives the green light for LTO on Apple

Apr 08, 2005: Exabyte has released the Magnum 1x7 LTO Autoloader for use with Mac OS Xserver to allow more information to be stored and retrieved much quicker than ever for the Government and enterprise customers.

It offers users 1.4 TB of capacity and a data transfer speed of up to 187 GB per hour with one Ultrium LTO-2 drive and seven tape cartridges. It will also soon be available with Ultrium LTO-3, which will double the Magnum's 1x7 capacity and speed.

The software is customised and "tuned" to automatically recognise and configure the autoloader to reduce implementation time to minutes and eliminate configuration errors.
