Siber Systems password protects USB drives

Siber Systems has unveiled a new password protection system that will allow users to protect their password, identities, and banking and credit card information off computer hard drives through the use of USB drives.

Siber Systems has released a software application called Pass2Go, which is loaded on to a USB drive, plugged into any USB port, and then allows the user to log into online accounts, and fill in online forms.

Personal details do not appear on a client PC because it stays on the USB drive. Pass2Go uses RoboForm, which is Siber System's password management and form-filling tool.

RoboForm offers a high level of security because when the USB drive is ejected, all of the passcards and identities disappear from the computer, so they cannot be stolen from a computer in principle because they are not there anymore.

It is also very portable because when a user inserts the USB drive into a slot, RoboForm automatically recognises the user's data and turns itself on.

All of the stored information is protected using the 3-DES1 encryption standard and Pass2Go needs a master password to open sensitive information.

Pass2Go also allows information to be kept organised in folders that allow password and identities, for example, address/phone and other personal information) to be stored in a filing system that the user chooses.
