EVault enhances backup servers

EVault has released its EVault Continuum Server, to protect vital database applications, such as emails, enterprise resource planning and information that needs to be kept stored securely.

It works in combination with each company's online data backup and recovery software to help meet the goals of data recovery.

Administrators can use the technology to mirror data between primary storage and the Continuum Server, which means that the Continuum Server can provide up-to-date access to applications and data, even if a hardware failure happens.

The Continuum Server can also can find data backwards and forwards if corruptions happens to a Microsoft Exchange or SQL database.

EVault's Csnap is a snapshot facility, which can deliver copies of complete data volumes. It takes less than a second to access, uses less than 1K of space and provides extremely fast data recovery.

Evault's Cditto replication features also transfers data constantly to a second server to provide even greater protection.

It can be used in both SAN and NAS environments through the use of SCSI, Fibre Channel and iSCIS interfaces, and can be used on Windows, Solaris, Linux and NetWare.
