Interwoven breaks another records barrier

Interwoven has consolidated its ability to provide document support by acquiring records management firm Software Intelligence to help enterprises develop comprehensive retention and compliance policies.

Software Intelligence's comprehensive records management product will now be called Interwoven Records Manager to enable companies to manage paper documents, electronic documents and email under a single unified records system.

Customers have selected the solution in the 250 largest US law firms, the Big four accounting firms, and the Fortune 500. Interwoven chose Software Intelligence specifically because of its success within the legal market.

Charles Brett, vice president at META Group, said: "The new regulatory environment has made records management a matter of great urgency for all types of organisations. Integrating complete records management into a unified content management environment will help companies meet their compliance goals efficiently and cost-effectively."

Jeffrey Schwarz, IT partner, McDermott Will & Emergy LLP, added: "Managing records retention in silos creates risks in many organisations. We are very pleased to see Interwoven broaden its capabilities to address this pressing issue. As a customer of both Software Intelligence and Interwoven, we are excited by the possibilities of a single unified records management platform from a company we have grown to trust."

Interwoven Records Manager will be fully compatible with Interwoven's ECM applications that include TeamSite, WorkSite and MediaBin, via the service-oriented architecture. This will enable the consistent definition and application of the records management policy.
