RamSan wins versality credibility

Texas Memory Systems has had its RamSan-320 solid state disk tried and tested by McDATA's OPENready Tested program, meaning it is fully interoperable with common SAN infrastructures, according to McDATA.

Tested Memory Systems is now the only solid state disk vendor qualified for McDATA's OPENready certification. RamSan-320 storage aims to increase the performance for users with demanding SAN-based applications such as databases, OLTP (online transaction processing), and OLAP (online analytical processing).

Woody Hutsell, executive vice president at Texas Memory Systems said. "This certification continues our goal of making RamSan solid state disks the fastest and most interoperable in the industry. We work closely with storage networking solution providers such as McDATA to ensure that our mutual customers experience maximum acceleration of their particular applications, with systems that are reliable and fully integrated."

Matt Gale, group manager of OPENready partnerships & alliances at McDATA added. "Application, network and data stability and availability are two critical elements customers expect from McDATA and its OPENready partners. McDATA and Texas Memory Systems can now assure interoperability to customers who need to simplify, consolidate and integrate storage and servers, even as they increase performance and data usage. We are delighted to certify Texas Memory Systems as our newest OPENready Tested partner, and share their commitment to meeting the needs of users in demanding application environments."

The RamSan-320 offers 250,000 IOPS and internal bandwidth of 3GB that can be shared effectively amongst multiple servers. The performance boost can enable higher transaction loads and support users without resorting to additional servers, associated licenses and management overhead.
