Back-up specialists unite for joint offering

Tape backup system provider Exabyte has entered into an OEM partnership with backup and recovery software developer Yosemite Technologies, whereby Yosemite's base-level backup software solution, TapeWare XE, will be bundled with Exabyte's VXA-2 PacketLoader Tape Libraries.

The pair are optimistic that the partnership will allow both companies to expand their reach in the market and further engage with leading VARs, distributors and national resellers, such as Ingram, CDW and Insight, by offering training, joint floor days and road shows.

"Exabyte has an exemplary track record of providing high-performance tape storage products. When combined with Yosemite's experience in providing enterprise-calibre backup software, SMEs get a great foundation for data protection," stated John Maxwell, vice president of worldwide marketing at Yosemite Technologies.

"SMEs demand easy-to-use solutions for their network infrastructure. By offering a multi-platform, high-speed, high-capacity data protection system, we are delivering an ultra-reliable solution that meets or exceeds their requirements," said Kieran Maloney, general manager of Exabyte's VXA Business Unit.
