Synergy Plus takes Adaptive under its wing

Synergy Plus, born and bred in Australia, has taken over Adaptive International in its bid to become of the strongest contenders in Australia for providing ebusiness solutions.

Synergy Plus started 22 years ago and this latest success story will help it build a new larger and stronger company that will combine Adaptives' specialist J2EE development capabilities with Synergy's ebusiness solutions and infrastructure services.

The Adaptive International name will be maintained for the time being, but eventually the company will only be known as Synergy Plus.

The new company will have more than 100 certified consultants to deliver enterprise standard solutions; J2EE, .Net and Lotus Notes expertise; comprehensive application and infrastructure solutions that encompass Linux, Unix, IBM, BEA, Sun and open source technologies and end to end solutions capabilities.

Bill Votsaris, chief executive officer for Synergy Plus said. "We have actively been seeking a merger for the last six to seven months so that we can compete for major banking projects. This merger will mean that we will now be able to take on more and bigger projects. We've gone from a staff of 100 to 160.

"Adaptive International has offices in London and San Francisco, which we can now use too, and it created the Barclays Bank internet banking site. So we are looking forward to using this greater expertise to provide better facilities to banks in Australia now too."

Adaptive International has also successfully delivered systems to several major Australian corporations including Telstra, Sensis, National Australian Bank and Qantas.

Only four people have been made redundant in management positions through the merger, because of the duplication of roles.
