EMC and Fujitsu Siemens strengthen alliance
Fujitsu Siemens will now be able to resell EMC's full line of networked storage systems, after the pair enhanced their strategic partnership and extended it through 2008.
It is clear that Fujitsu Siemens holds its alliance with the storage giant in high regard, having just named EMC as its "Supplier of the Year" for the second year running.
"EMC's technology, quality and internal processes provide Fujitsu Siemens and its customers with industry leading storage solutions," said Adrian v. Hammerstein, Fujitsu Siemens' president and CEO. "EMC's networked storage systems and software are key components of our Business Critical Computing solutions, where we are outperforming our competitors. The extension underlines our commitment to work together at all levels, from engineering to sales and service, to develop new ways to make sure that our customers get the most value from their information."
Fujitsu Siemens offers EMC's CLARiiON networked storage systems under the FibreCAT brand name, and the company is the largest reseller of EMC Symmetrix systems. Fujitsu Siemens Computers also offers EMC's Celerra file servers, Centera content addressed storage (CAS) solutions, Connectrix switches and EMC open software solutions. Fujitsu Siemens is a member of the EMC Authorised Services Network. In addition, Fujitsu Siemens sells Legato's full line of software for information access, availability and protection as part of a relationship that is now in its eleventh year.
