FileNet lends support to Office
Enterprise Content Management (ECM) system provider – and Microsoft global partner - FileNet has announced its support for the vendor's new Office System.
FileNet's technology has been designed to work with Office 2003 to provide customers with integrated access to content and a process framework to enable multiple contributors to collaborate and contribute information. The integration encompasses many of the Office System productivity applications, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook, and enables users to access FileNet ECM through the Office applications.
Additionally, FileNet plans to support Microsoft Office SharePoint Portal Server 2003, which allows enterprises to develop a portal that connects users, teams and knowledge so people can leverage relevant information across business processes.
"Microsoft continues to be our most popular platform measured by number of shipments, with more than 60 percent of customers selecting the Microsoft platform to deploy FileNet's ECM solutions," said David Caldeira, Vice President, Product Marketing at FileNet. "Customers can feel confident that their FileNet solutions will continue to support new versions of Microsoft applications."
"A key goal with the Microsoft Office System is to provide productivity software that addresses the needs of today's collaborative office environment," said Mike Gelon, of the Information Worker Product Management Group, at Microsoft Corp. "We are thrilled to see that FileNet has built upon this goal and provided a solution that will increase productivity, efficiency and collaboration for users of the Microsoft Office System."
