Brio Software's Aussie chief promoted

Business intelligence software provider Brio has announced the promotion of its Australia and New Zealand MD, Paul Beks to the role of regional director, South Asia Pacific.

In addition to Australia and New Zealand, Beks will be responsible for the management of Brio's operations in Malaysia, Singapore, the Philippines and India.

He has been awarded with the new role in return for consistently driving up revenues in New Zealand and Australia during his leadership in the region. Additionally, Beks has restructured the company's direct and indirect sales channels, initiated partnerships with Australian software developers such as MYOB and secured contracts with high profile customers, including Air New Zealand and Centrelink.

Assessing the challenge that lies ahead for him, Beks commented: "Companies across Asia Pacific are facing constrained budgets in a depressed economic climate.  In such a time, business intelligence and reporting becomes even more crucial.  Brio is actively working with many companies to help them weather this period and, in turn, consolidate our position as one of the leading business software vendors in this region."
