Storage companies admired by Fortune

Two major players have scored well in the Most Admired Companies ratings from influential American magazine Fortune.

StorageTek topped the pops as the number one most admired company in the computer peripherals category of the rating. This is the second year in a row that StorageTek has come out the leader.

"It is an honour to be singled out by our peers and our competitors for this prestigious award," said the chairman and CEO of StrorageTek Pat Martin.

Storage management software vendor Veritas is also an admired company, coming in fourth amongst the computer software companies in the rating. This is the first time that Veritas has appeared on the Most Admired list and chairman Gary Bloom described it as "truly an honour".

Companies that appear in the Most Admired list are judged by 10,000 executives on their innovation, employee talent, the quality of their products and services, the quality of their management, their financial soundness; use of corporate assets, long term investment value and their social responsibility.
