CD-R publisher on show for first time in Australia

Microcare has unveiled a new Rimage turnkey CD-R publishing system that combines file transferring, recording and surface printing in one automated process.

The Rimage Perfect Image Producer ProtŽgŽ is designed to replace redundant hard disc storage with an ability to record to and print on CDs.

Microcare's new Rimage turnkey CD-R publishing system on display for the first time in Australia.

The ProtŽgŽ can duplicate CDs or record to them, so it can fill a range of corporate recording voids, such as archiving or document imaging. As the product incorporates one 4x CD-R recorder, plus an additional optional 4x recorder, it can further meet smaller scale COLD applications.

A smaller, desktop version of its Producer System siblings, the ProtŽgŽ's DataStreaming Architecture reportedly supports overlapped imaging, network downloading and recording of two simultaneous data streams.

The Imaging Server Windows-based operating software can include custom designed text and logos on the surface of the CD via 300dpi thermal transfer, and can print on two discs simultaneously.
