December 18, 2007: Security information management provider NetForensics has announce new and enhanced features for its latest version of nFX Log One, including improvements to architecture, scalability and data collection.

With version 6.0 of nFX Log One, the company claims to have simplified its enterprise-class event log management solution, enabling organisations to wrangle volumes of log files, reduce risk, and improve compliance.

Specifically, new features include expanded data collection, compression and validation capabilities, 64-bit windows platform support, and an extended Web-based user interface for reports administration.

NetForensics claims that thanks to these new features, version 6.0 can increase operational visibility and provide comprehensive audit and compliance reporting to large enterprises, as well as small-to-medium size organisations.

nFX Log One’s new architecture also includes advanced filtering options that enable multiple dedicated collectors for Syslog and Syslog-NG to be deployed, ensuring reliable and consistent data collection via load balancing for high-volume servers and reducing potential single points of failure within the network.

The new architecture also provides administrators the flexibility to customise data collection methods, log rotation and compression to reduce hardware storage costs, cryptographic digital signatures and validation of log file integrity, and secure log archiving.
