Java sets software redesign

Australian software firm Prophecy International has unveiled its strategy to add new levels of Internet richness to its product set, by redeveloping them in Java.

Prophecy has aligned with Sun Microsystems Australia through the Federal Government's Partnerships for Development program, to redevelop its ProphecyOpen Object Framework and Business software.

Sun will provide hardware, software and services for the project.

Prophecy will also produce offshoot e-business applications for the international market and delivered online through an Application Service Provider (ASP) model, taking advantage of Java's universality and making its product more sustainable.

The partnership continues Prophecy's strategy to embrace full open systems support in its products through Java's platform-independent nature.
