ELO tackles Web content

September 2, 2008: A new Web content management solution from ELO Digital Office simplifies the process by separating the graphical, navigational and structural elements from the text.

ELO’s WCM concept provides for all data to be managed in a process-related manner in a centralised repository. This results in better controlled growth of system solutions and standardised access to distributed data

ELO WCM comes with a simple-to-use editor for quick content publication. Both content pages and the object structure can be allocated by storing them in the ELO archive structure. Furthermore, links for comprehensive navigation can be set up to other content pages.

A standout feature is the direct parallel administration of several languages. The system can purposefully steer the publication and translation process in the individual national languages by making a tree structure available for all languages and not just one tree structure for each language.

With the aid of ELO user administration, companies can exactly control which users or user groups have access to which website elements. In this way, the various different user groups in a company can quickly and conveniently publish content from their familiar ELO environment on their own websites. All of the content for this is securely managed in ELO.

The workflow engine integrated into ELO WCM also alleviates the administration of very complex and extensive websites and ensures that no web content is published without being checked. All common ELO ECM functions, such as workflow, user administration, signature, authorisation concepts, versioning, archiving, collaboration and check-in/checkout, can be meaningfully combined with the WCM.

The Web Content Management module fits in seamlessly with the existing ELO product family, ensuring that integration work is kept to a minimum for existing ELO customers.

“With the launch of our WCM we have closed the gap to the very few developers who offer a 360 degree Enterprise Content Management solution. ELO is now a One-Stop-Shop for all needs related to data, knowledge, web content or documents” said Rainer Krause, Managing Director of ELO Digital in Australia.

Recently appointed to the NSW GSAS IAMS software panel ELO Digital now covers essentially all aspects of digital knowledge and information management: document management, email management, records management, WCM, business process management and complete integration with SAP, BaaN or MS Dynamics.
