Unitrends Releases Rapid Recovery 4.0

October 7, 2008: Data protection and restoration specialist Unitrends has announced new additions to its disaster recovery platform, promising unparalleled simplicity and support for upwards of 40 operating environments.

The firm says that Rapid Recovery 4.0 delivers exceptional centralised management capabilities, simplified backup administration, customisable reporting, and support for broad range of operating environments including Windows, Linux/UNIX, Novell and many others.

Rapid Recovery 4.0 includes the Web 2.0 Rich Internet Application-based Rapid Recovery Console for centralised control of backups, scheduling, recovery and configuration. It enables users to run on-demand backups or scheduled backup strategies for all clients and for all Unitrends' Data Protection Units and Data Protection Vaults within their environments.

It also offers enhanced functionality for Novell servers, including automatic protection of GroupWise and eDirectory servers.

Rapid Recovery 4.0 is available now from Unitrends' VARs and distributors in the U.S. and the U.K. Existing customers with current support/maintenance contracts are also being offered a free software upgrade to version 4.0.
