Kanguru Secures Flash Drives

November 10, 2008: Enterprise security software provider Kanguru has given the security of flash drives a boost, announcing new tools to remotely secure and manage portable storage.

To address evolving government and enterprise security standards, the company has added new administrative tools to its Kanguru Remote Management Console (KRMC), saying it can now give system administrators unprecedented levels of control over their USB Drives.

Kanguru says the new features make its secure flash drives intelligent, as they enable them to check for server availability, notify users of policy updates, schedule password changes and more.

“Our goal is to offer a complete solution to help organisations meet their security standards for portable storage devices,” says Don Brown, President and CEO of Kanguru Solutions. “By offering highly secure flash drives that are also infinitely manageable, our customers are able to control their portable data in ways never before available.”

The company says that by using KRMC with its Defender Encrypted Flash Drives, governments and enterprises can meet security standards such as CESG, ISO/IEC 19790:2006, FIPS 140-2 and more.
