DAM good year for DataBasics
January 23, 2009: DAM software company Canto has a million reasons to be happy with Australian partner DataBasics, which racked up the magic number in sales of Cumulus products and services during the 2008 calendar year.
Setting a regional record for sales by a single partner, DataBasics credits its success to the addition of some 30 new Cumulus customers, with the balance of revenues coming from software maintenance renewals and services. Government agencies dominated the new Cumulus installations, followed by corporate marketing and design agencies.
“2008 was a good year for Canto and many of Canto’s partners,” says Canto CEO Ulrich Knocke. “But DataBasics’ performance in their region was particularly impressive. Their success no doubt reflects how effectively they apply their advanced knowledge of Cumulus toward addressing the needs of their customers.”
DataBasics Director Ricky Patten attributes his company’s continued success in part to a growing trend in the region for the adoption of digital asset management.
“Digital asset management has now become an essential business requirement for many organisations in Australia, New Zealand and SE Asia,” he says.
“When I visit customers, I am welcomed with a well researched list of what these people need to make their business more efficient and competitive.”A DataBasics press release describes the company’s 2008 sales as “significant business in Australia [that] reinforces Canto Cumulus to be a successfullong term player in the software industry.”
