Foundations for small business computing

Foundations for small business computing

March 9, 2009: IBM Lotus Foundations Start, an inclusive turnkey solution that can be installed within 30 minutes, aims to provide the software essential for companies with five to 500 employees.

For those with little or no in-house technical resources, the new, Linux-based IBM solution provides staple collaboration tools such as email, file sharing, and remote access and automated network security features, data protection, backup and recovery.

It automatically detects the network, secures data and configures applications.

Jonathan Stern, Lotus Regional Executive, IBM A/NZ said "Lotus Foundations is a key part of our SMB strategy here in Australia. We know small businesses need to get up and running fast. If they're not nimble in how they serve their customers, they don't stay in business very long. Part of the appeal is not having to run around adding things. Foundations Start has everything you need."

The IBM Lotus Notes/Domino Collaboration platform provides tools for a business to create, share and print documents, and leverage email and calendaring functions.
