NetApp adds new storage platform

September 17, 2009:NetApp has announced a new FAS2040 storage system, designed for Windows consolidation and virtualisation workloads, while announcing significant price reductions for its FAS2020 systems and associated software.

The FAS2040 provides double the performance of any existing FAS2000 storage system and increased storage capacity of up to 30% with prices starting at $A10,500.

The FAS2020 now also offers multiprotocol support, including CIFS and NFS.
