Fordela delivers a hybrid DAM
Fordela Corporation, a San Francisco-based digital asset management software and rich-media services company, has announced the release of its cloud-based Video Management Solution (VMS) 3.0.
Fordela can be deployed as a 100% hosted or converged configuration, integrating into on-site Enterprise Content Management (ECM) systems.
A user interface incorporates Web 2.0 workflows and the VMS and video players can be customised.
Additional upgrades to the core cloud-based digital asset management application include: codec-agnostic media uploader improvements for faster file processing; live capture; custom profile media transcoding and version control; custom metadata field inputs; WYSIWYG text editors; expanded multi-document attachments to video assets; and review and approval workflows.
With the dramatic increase in the use of rich-media assets across multiple departments within organisations, knowledge workers are finding it increasingly difficult to locate, manage and distribute content to their fellow employees, customers and partners.
The company claims its solution can be rapidly deployed without the cost, resources and time constraints that traditional software and hardware installation packages require.
Additionally, Fordela offers an extensive set of online editing tools, public or private custom players, and online transcode settings empowering internal personnel to 'help themselves' to approved assets in the formats they need. Built with the non-technical user in mind, organizations can quickly roll out and manage vast amount of rich-media in a workflow that makes sense to their organization.
