Idera has announced the availability of SharePoint backup 2.8, which provides automation and granular recovery from site collections down to sites, list items and individual documents.

Version 2.8 also enables administrators to conduct an out-of-place restore of data from SharePoint 2007 backup sets into SharePoint 2010 environments saving time and ensuring the security of data.
