OpenText announces new applications to enhance SAP Portal solutions

To help customers using SAP’s NetWeaver Portal solution, enterprise content management provider OpenText recently announced a new partnership to provide the system with several new applications.

According to an OpenText announcement, the new products are the SAP Portal Content Management application by OpenText, which is an enterprise tool to help organizations manage documents, and the web-managing SAP Portal Site Management application.

SAP senior vice president and general manager Sanjay Chikarmanen indicated that portals have become an integral information hub that help companies deploy solutions to a broader range of users.

OpenText vice president of SAP solutions Patrick Barnert said that the new applications will address the “explosion of content” companies must manage.

“These latest solutions tap our extensive knowledge and experience in working with SAP applications and customers to make it even easier for organizations to gain maximum benefit from their portal investments,” said Barnert.

OpenText has developed several solutions for SAP products. The company announced in August that it had released a new solution that works with SAP’s Travel Management application. According to the company, the application helps organisations remove the need to manage paper receipts required for expense reports.
