SlateMate integrates card reader and barcode scanner

Motion Computing has introduced the CL900 SlateMate, extending the functionality of its CL900 Tablet PC to transform it into a multi-faceted data acquisition tool.

The SlateMate boasts a Magnetic Stripe Reader (MSR) and Barcode Scanner (BCS) for mobile data acquisition and processing in the first of what will be a family of integrated expansion options for Motion’s CL900 Tablet PC.

The integrated MagTek MSR documents driver’s licences, patient I.D cards and shopper
loyalty cards with a single swipe. It reads virtually any barcode for inventory status, material tracking and resource availability information.

Designed as a seamless extension of the CL900, the CL900 SlateMate is securely integrated into the tablet PC’s internal frame and offers the benefits of integrated tools without the need for third party devices.

The CL900 Tablet PC is a durable, lightweight tablet PC that provides up to eight hours battery life.

Motion’s Australia and New Zealand Country Manager, Brett Gross, commented, “The CL900
SlateMate was built on the notion that purpose-built integrated tools maximise the benefits of tablet PC deployments – i.e. it will enhance the functionality of the CL900 Tablet PC to meet the needs of users in a variety of vertical markets.”
