The riches of SharePoint text
The latest version of SharePointBoost's Rich Text Boost allows SharePoint users to enable or disable any available functionality by offering a customisable rich text editor control panel.
All the settings are able to be configured not only from the list level but also from the site collection level. In addition, the memory function has been integrated with Rich Text Boost during this upgrade, which makes rich text editor area dimensions storable between edits.
“Enabling users to delete or remove any button in the rich text editor control panel is a great additional feature that was highly requested from SharePoint users,” commented Jonathan Ma, the director of research and development at SharePointBoost.
“We believe that this function will make our product more handy and applicable because most customers use the rich text editor at different scenarios and they actually do not need all the buttons displayed everywhere at each scenario. Therefore, the availability of control panel customization for each rich text column of each item in each list will definitely bring them better using experience.”
SharePoint administrators are empowered to customize the configuration on buttons for the whole site collection in one location, Rich Text Settings Centre. There, they are able to complete default settings for all the lists under that site collection, and can revise settings for any individual column as well, which frees them from tedious clicks and allows for more attention paid on higher priority tasks.
The latest version also offers memorisation of rich text editor area dimensions. The changes made to the size of the editor box during the last edit can be saved for the next editor, so users can view the content immediately after entering into editing interface, bypassing unnecessary operations.
SharePointBoost's Rich Text Boost is compatible with both MOSS 2007 and WSS 3.0, has cross-browser support and is available in several languages.
