S Central in Local Purchase

S Central in Local Purchase

June 12, 2007: Melbourne IT solutions provider S Central, has continued its acquisition strategy with yet another IT services purchase. This time, the bid was for fellow Victorian vendor, Expressapps.

While financial terms have not been disclosed, S Central says the purchase was a strategic move in order to push up their virtualisation, storage networking and managed services market presence.

It’s the third acquisition in just seven months and the sixth for the past three years for S Central. The vendor shows no signs of letting of steam with a commitment to seek further growth opportunities in the Australian IT market and to soon pursue an Australian Stock Exchange listing.

With a workforce of 25, Expressapps will become a wholly owned subsidiary of S Central after agreeing to the terms last week. Virtualisation and networking infrastructure projects are the key focus for Expressapps, with a technical capacity set to compliment S Central’s similar line of acquisitions over the last three years.

Peter Mavridis, managing director at S Central, says Expressapps is a trusted and skilled services base for organisations looking to undertake server-based virtual computing projects. “The company has an established track record in the IT industry,” he sas. “A large proportion of the staff are technical people, with considerable skills in Citrix, Microsoft and VMware technologies.”

S Central’s last acquisition was for AGM IT back in November 2006 and included the purchase of hosted datacenter solutions through the IT On-Demand Pty offering. The acquisition enabled S Central to expand its virtualisation and storage networking expertise into the NSW market and further pursue its nation-wide growth strategy.
