Vignette Releases Digital Services Hub

June 19, 2007: Vignette is showing off its latest digital asset delivery system, promising to help service providers push their digital content harder with greater security, easier deployment and stronger customer connections.

Called the Vignette Digital Services Hub, the company says the system enables organisations to manage and deliver rich multimedia content to any Web-enabled device, and do it via a single unified framework.

Vignette says the DSH provides tracking and analysis to ensure content reaches the right user or group, and a single application for collecting, managing, approving and delivering electronic assets and rich media to customers based on preferences, demographics and demonstrated interests.

As it deals with the somewhat tricky new media, Vignette has line up a range of partners to support its DSH, namely SafeNet for digital rights management (DRM) and content protection, Sun for identity management and hardware, Valista for payments and settlement solutions and Volantis for its mobile content software.

While it has been designed with telcos, media and entertainment companies in mind, Vignette claims the technology is quite suited to other applications in the financial sector, healthcare, distribution and retail where ad hoc user and customer connections are important.

“Right now, the greatest need for solutions like the Vignette Digital Services Hub is in the telco, media and entertainment space,” said Leo Brunnick senior vice president of Products and Marketing at Vignette. “However, we believe all industries from healthcare and public sector to financial services can benefit from making more emotional connections with customers.”
