Infor Acquires Hansen

May 17, 2007: Public sector applications firm Infor has announced that it will acquire Hansen Information Technologies, boosting services for local government and municipal authorities.

The two companies serve government agencies in the US, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, South Africa and the UK, by joining forces Infor says it will be able to increase its portfolio of ERP, EAM, Business Intelligence services and more with minimal overlap.

Following the acquisition, Infor claims it will be able to offer a compelling combination of Human Capital Management, Revenue Management, and Enterprise Asset Management to municipalities of all sizes.

“Infor’s strategy is to address markets where customers want solutions with functionality and expertise specific to their needs, rather than the generic products of the large horizontal software providers,” says Jim Schaper, chairman and CEO of Infor. “Hansen provides software that is built for the unique needs of state and local government.”

The company says Hansen's applications help manage the daily operations of government, and include the industry's leading applications for Building Permits, Licensing, Code Enforcement, Citizen Relationship Management, Enterprise Asset Management (EAM), Transit and Rail, Financials, Property Tax, and Utility Billing. Hansen 8, the company’s flagship product, is an integrated web-based suite of these applications.

Hansen CEO Chuck Hansen praised Infor in the acquisition announcement, adding that current Hansen customers can expect no dip in services and long-term support and evolution of its products.
