Canto Quarks Up Its Software

December 19, 2006: Canto Software has announced the availability of its BrandAssistant, a product Canto says, offers digital asset management from within QuarkXpress 7.

The target is Brand Managers in need of control over the assets they manage. Canto says the BrandAssistant offering will work to reduce production and approval delays, increase asset security and distribution control while also working to speed up time to market.

Eric Silver, Quark strategic partner business manager believes the partnership will boost the Quark customer experience. “This partnership with Canto provides our customers with the best in digital asset management by enabling designers to work more efficiently in workgroup scenarios.”

BrandAssistant includes the asset-relations tracking technology first introduced with Cumulus 7. Yet in addition, the product can assist layout artists in cataloguing new layouts and marking files for review without leaving the QuarkXPress environment. BrandAssistant can also build on content management and search processors by cataloguing the complete text used in layouts into searchable metadata.

BrandAssistant can be purchased from DataBasics or local resellers/system integrators.
