Baby Companies Get ‘My Very First SAN’

December 21, 2006: The storage confusion of some small to medium sized business could soon be eased with the release of Fujitsu Siemens Computer’s ‘My Very First San.’

No, it’s not a last minute gift idea for baby’s first Christmas. Instead, the ‘My very first SAN’ offering provides a start-up bundled storage solution for SMBs looking to expand their storage requirements.

Straight from the box, ‘My Very First SAN’ features the new FibreCAT SX storage system (SX 60 pf SX80) as well as Brocade SAN switches and Emulex host bus adapters. With a number of different configurations available and flexibility onside, Fujitsu says customers can easily meet their storage requirements through the boxed bundle.

The product is marketed off the back of the increasing need for companies of all sized to meet expanding storage requirements. Dr Helmut Beck, Vice President, Storage Business at Fujitsu Siemens Computers, says small to medium sized companies have plenty of reasons for setting up a SAN. “Nevertheless,” he says. “We have found that many companies are still reluctant to convert their storage infrastructure accordingly.”

According to Fujitsu , ‘My very first SAN’ offers an inexpensive and simple means to give life to a SAN in organisations who might otherwise brand the process to difficult and complicated to achieve.. “Even smaller companies can now start reaping the benefits of having a SAN for their data storage, reflecting today’s high demands for information availability and security,” says Beck.
