Seagate Unveil Maxtor SharedStorage II

July 10th, 2006: upgrades it’s network-attached storage (NAS) device.

Available for shipment later this month, the Maxtor SharedStorage II (SSII) is different to previous NAS devices from Segate due to the inclusion of a 1TB size to the SharedStorage capacity. Other new features include gigabyte Ethernet, improved transfer speed for data files and a new chassis.

As with it’s predecessors the Maxtor SSII can be connected to up to twenty Mac or Windows PCs which can send and receive data from the two 200RPM 500GB hard drives. The Maxtor SSII will retail for around AU$ 1300.
