The product, which was released locally today by the US-based software vendor, provides a range of new possibilities for databases. Now organisations will be able to bookmark details such as a customer address and link it with a map or a product order with shipping times, the possibilities for useful web connections to stored information are huge.

The software will be available for Windows and Mac OSX and is available in Australia now. Pricing is for FileMaker Pro 8.5 for AUD$499 (inc. GST) and FileMaker Pro 8.5 Advanced for AUD$869 (inc. GST). FileMaker Server 8 is priced at AUD$1,749 (inc. GST) and FileMaker Server Advanced 8 is $4,389 (inc. GST).
