Wavenet Modem Breaks Into European Market

July 24th, 2006: WA based Wavenet International has announced that it has received an order from Netherlands company RAM Mobile Data for modems to operate on a private Mobitex network.

The order is valued at AU $200,000 and will see Wavenet modems used for vehicle tracking and machine-to-machine communications such as point-of-sale and meter reading devices. The Wavenet modems will comply with the current European standard for restriction of hazardous substances, known as the RoHS directive.

Wavenet's CEO, Richard Timms, says the order is a valuable entry to the European market and enhances Wavenet's geographic and customer diversity. “Wavenet is one of the few large scale modem manufacturers for Mobitex products with a unique product mix which sets it apart from many of its competitors”, Says Timms.

Last Month Wavenet secured a US order worth approximately $3 million for its Wombat vehicle modems.
