Sony Launches IP Monitor Security Solution

July 26th, 2006: Sony Australia has introduced a new, scalable IP security solution for the traditional security and surveillance market.

The IPELA Easy IP Monitoring Solution forms an IP based stand alone system that doesn’t require a PC, except for added storage or archiving claims Sony. The IPELA comprises a Sony Network Surveillance Recorder (NSR Series) and two fully featured IP cameras (CS Series.

“The trend in security monitoring is definitely moving towards IP-based systems and our new IPELA Easy IP Monitoring Solution will create many more opportunities for security vendors”, said Les Boros, product manager for IP Communication and Monitoring at Sony Australia. “With Sony’s Easy IP Monitoring Solution, vendors can mix and match the hardware to provide the best solution, whilst offering customers all the benefits of IP-based monitoring without the complications involved in setting up and configuring a PC and licensing software to run the system”.

Being IP driven, the IPELA solution offers the end user the ability to monitor security from remote locations, as well as on board storage of up to One Terabyte on four RAID drives.

Some IPELA and related products are available now with more becoming available in late July. Pricing ranges between AU $957.00 to $17282.10.
