Data Management For Apple ADICs

Data Management For Apple ADICs

May 1st, 2006: ADIC has introduced the latest version of its StorNext FX data management software, offering greater support and consolidation of resources for those working in Apple environments.

Called StorNext FX, ADIC (Advanced Digital Information Corporation) says its new software enables greater consolidation of workflow processes in Apple environments. The company also says that by enabling users to share Xsan storage area networks (SANs) and Xserve RAID systems with applications running on Linux, Windows, and UNIX platforms, StorNext FX both saves time, and increases productivity.

Because of this cross-operating system support, storage can be consolidated into a single resource, increasing storage efficiency and ensuring that data can be accessed by a range of different applications running on different platforms.

"Apple's Xsan is expanding the benefits of SANs to a wide range of data-intensive industries, including digital media post-production, imaging, scientific modeling, broadcast, and web-based content delivery," says Paul Zuhorski, Executive Director, ADIC Advanced Solutions Group. "In these settings, StorNext FX shortens timelines and improves user productivity by letting Xsan environments support applications that require other, non-Mac OS platforms."
